Ideal for
A dramatic finale to a safari
The Zambezi pours over a mile-wide basalt edge and falls into a gorge so narrow the spray rises hundreds of metres — visible, on a full-flood day, from the air long before you land. It is loud, wet and genuinely humbling.
There are two sides, and we'll tell you the truth about both. Zimbabwe (Victoria Falls town) gives you the broader, more famous viewpoints and a walkable town; Zambia (Livingstone) offers the edge-of-the-falls Devil's Pool in low water and a quieter feel. The KAZA Univisa lets eligible travellers see both.
Beyond the viewpoints: sunset cruises, white-water rafting, helicopter flips, bridge swings, and a high tea on a colonial-era hotel terrace. We build the Falls leg around your appetite for adrenaline — or your preference for none.
Highlights
- The main falls viewpoints on the Zimbabwe side
- Devil's Pool and Livingstone Island (Zambia, low-water months)
- Sunset cruises on the Zambezi
- Helicopter 'Flight of Angels'
- Rafting, bridge activities and gorge walks
When to go
High water
Feb – JulMaximum thunder and spray, peaking around April. Bring a poncho — viewpoints can be misted out at the very peak.
Low water
Aug – JanClearer views of the rock face, and the season for Devil's Pool and the best rafting.
Getting there
Fly into Victoria Falls (VFA, Zimbabwe) or Livingstone (LVI, Zambia), or transfer by road from Kasane in about an hour. We advise on the KAZA Univisa and which side suits your plans.
